Providence Church seeks to be led by people who have been transformed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ and gifted by God to lovingly lead His church.
Elders / Pastors
In addition to the dozens of people who serve and lead aspects of ministry at Providence Church, our Pastoral Team is charged with shepherding through teaching and discipling, as well as setting overall church vision so the people of God can flourish in the grace of God.

Rob Ivy
Lead Pastor/Elder
Two years into training at West Point, Rob sensed God calling him to go into the mission field. After 2 years in Afghanistan, Tibet, China, Bhutan, and India, Rob decided to pursue pastoral ministry. Rob graduated from Bethlehem Seminary in 2013 and answered a call to be Providence Church’s lead pastor in 2017. Rob is passionate about the Bible and how God transforms lives by His grace. Rob is married to Christi and they have four children.

Nate Rutman
Associate Pastor/Elder
After growing up as a “church kid,” Nate encountered Jesus personally in high school. Shortly after, he moved to Pittsburgh and began growing in his relationship with God at Providence Church. In addition to leading small groups and the worship music on Sunday mornings, Nate stepped into pastoral ministry at Providence in April of 2015. Nate and his wife, Sarah, are the proud parents of five amazing (and crazy!) kids.

Ryan Hughes
Pastor/Elder
God drew Ryan to himself at an early age, using parents and faithful church participation as means of grace to help him forsake sin, embrace Christ and mature in the faith. He joined Providence while attending college in 2000 and sensed a call from God to remain after graduation. Over the years, he has joyfully served in various musical, tech team and leadership roles, eager for God to use him to strengthen Providence Church. Ryan, his wife Christa and their five children enjoy welcoming others into their lively home.

Matthew Bartko
Pastor/Elder
Matt grew up in a Christian home and was a member of a local Baptist church. His faith deepened through years of theological wrestling in Sunday school classes, campus ministries, and various church communities. Though he once took pride in being a “good Christian kid,” he came to understand his need for grace and now rests in the finished work of Christ. He joined Providence shortly after college, fell in love with the people of the church, and deeply appreciates the ways they have served and cared for him and his wife, Emily. He is joyful to embrace the opportunity to serve them as an elder.
Deacons
Our deacons serve our church by leading important ministry initiatives for our church. They are gifts to our church and help us share and live out the gospel more effectively together.
Patrick Harmon
Deacon of the Open Hearts Fund
Our Open Hearts Fund is money that our membership generously gives to care for practical needs within our body (see 1 John 3:16–18). Providence Church appointed Pat to help us use this fund with wisdom and generosity.
Jonathan Holuta
Deacon of Children’s Ministry
Providence Church has always been blessed by an abundance of children. Jon helps us by serving as the deacon of our Children’s Ministry. He is a core teacher and helps us organize our volunteers and resources so that our children can grow as they learn about Jesus each Sunday.
Sarah Rutman
Deacon of Kids Club
Sarah Rutman helps Providence Church oversee and run our Kids Club program. Kids Club provides a regular opportunity for children in our community to enjoy a meal with us, learn from the Bible, sing songs that exalt Jesus, and have fun with various games, crafts, and activities.
