Gathering together in light of the Coronavirus pandemic
“How are we to gather in light of a pandemic where simply being together could put us at risk?” That is a question that the elders (and many members) of Providence Church have wrestled with as we have seen the Coronavirus (and the resulting government restrictions) sweep across the United States.
As Allegheny County has moved from RED to YELLOW to GREEN phases in Governor Wolf’s plan, we are navigating this difficult issue in a few different ways. First, we have complied with all government guidelines to date in the spirit of Scriptures like Romans 13:1–7. That means as we’ve moved from YELLOW and now to GREEN, we have begun public gatherings that are limited in number and limited in proximity.
Second, we have sought to provide for those in our body who are not yet comfortable with resuming in-person gatherings. For these beloved members, we have continued to public weekly service place for “Household Worship” as well as a weekly Zoom call so that we can encourage one another with the Word of God and with prayer.
As the conditions in our county and in our country continue to change, the best way to stay aware of our gatherings and fellowship is to subscribe to our weekly email. This email is sent every Saturday morning and informs our members about services and other important items in the life of our church.
If you have any questions about our church or our response to COVID-19, please contact the church office.
